Although a gift from couple of years ago, seeing these stocking again hanging up reminded me how much I enjoy creating my own needlework designs.
Using a disappearing fabric marker to draw designs on a small swatch of felt. I stitch those designs, cut out the designs into a pleasing shape resembling the drawing and sew them onto the stocking. I add a little stuffing under the applique, just for some added poof.
