sewing my own A-line skirt

I've really had an urge to make my own cloths.  I figure a simple skirt would be a good thing to start with and I'm so happy to have found this wonderful blog The Cordelia Files.  She has a great and well explained tutorial on how to make the pattern.

Looking ahead, my goal is to be able to produce some fun and a bit funky linen pieces, much like Bonnie Harris sells in her etsy shop LinnenClothing.   

If anyone has any tips for me, I'd love to hear them!
