Shabby Chic Dollhouse Doll Miniature

 My new passion for sculpting tiny 4-5" ladies perfect for that dollhouse in shabby chic decor.

  

There is something so fun about 'playing' with a little doll.  Every CreatingCottage dollhouse doll will come with some kind of rose accessory too.....I still have to sculpt those.

The miniature shabby chic 'yellow' dollhouse doll isn't wearing a hat, but her hair is done up in a Downton Abbey type up-do with pearls strung throughout.  

I'll post updates on my progress with these.......now I want my own dollhouse!!!

In My Workshop

 

There are times when I follow my urge to create something new.  This is one of those times.  It may be that now with Fall approaching, I've been concentrating on all the Holiday's ahead of us, with Christmas being the most fun for my style of clay.

A Shabby Chic Christmas is something that I see more and more of lately.  Gone is the bold red and green, replaced with soft pinks and light sages, of course, with backdrops of white or maybe silver and most likely glitter:)

 

I have been workshoping (that's a word, right?) on some new things......

 

Miniature ornaments and dolls - Or more accurately miniature doll torsos.  

 

I'm a bit at a stalemate now though, trying to decide on what other miniatures I want to add and where I'm going with the dolls. 

 I love them and I've always been fascinated with 'tiny people', probably because I'm such a diminutive 5' myself:)

 

I'm thinking box and jar toppers might be very cute.  Lots of lace, big hats full of roses and old fashioned hairdo's. 

 

More to follow, as I decide what I'm doing......Wish me luck!

Furniture Appliques - Large and Small Roses

I have some new projects which are working both ends of the size spectrum. Large and Mini. One of my latest furniture appliques, which I'm displaying in my home now, as I can't seem to part with it yet, is a lovely large arch of roses.

...and the other project is for dollhouse miniatures. A sample for someone of a tiny grouping, a swag and and a bouquet.

I love both sizes:)

I made this little hutch for myself. It holds copies of some of my blue and white pieces, frames, candle sticks, books, 'porcelain' birds, long stem roses, a birdhouse and on top is a lovely pink rose swag. The swag was actually for sale and not part of my original design. Now that it's sold I kind of miss the way it looks on the hutch so I think I'll make one for me too:)

Another cute little hutch that I just the basic white paint on yet but it was nice and simple, a good backdrop to show off the new miniature rose wall swag. I like it, the soft pinks, whites and green.

This yellow rose swag is also made to hang on a wall or sit on a piano or dresser in your dollhouse. I like the colors because it's a nice accent to a lot of room colors. It would look great in a blue/white room, pink or lavender and of course yellow.

My heart of mini roses. I made this with the intent that someone would want to decorate their dollhouse for the Valentine holiday. Actually, it looks really cute in a special spot of your normally sized house.

This picture frame or mirror, depending on how you want to use it has a very antique look to it with hints of pinks and greens - very subtle. The roses are on a mother of pearl frame. I think I'm going to try a few more of these. Besides being used as a miniature, I want to add pictures of my grand parents and other family that have passed to make a special ancestry tree.
