Shabby Chic Plaques, Platters and Signs

I've been working on signs and plaques lately for sale on Etsy and Ebay and thought I would share some here today.  I like being able to decide on the final design layout of the roses on the plaques, so to give me that flexibility I create each rose, rosebud, leaf or groupings of leaves as individual sets and affix them to the board or platter once the piece is painted and I've chosen the message.

Of course, like everything I do it's time consuming and just adds yet another step to the multi-stage process but I think it also lends to the creativity that is flowing at the time of assembly.

Anyway, I love just playing with all the little finished pieces......is that silly?

Multi-colored Roses

I have been making a bunch of white only furniture appliques, and maybe it was that or maybe it was all the white snow on the ground, but I had need to do something with color.

Here's what I made.......

Shabby Chic Dollhouse Doll Miniature

My new passion for sculpting tiny 4-5" ladies perfect for that dollhouse in shabby chic decor.

There is something so fun about 'playing' with a little doll.  Every CreatingCottage dollhouse doll will come with some kind of rose accessory too.....I still have to sculpt those.

The miniature shabby chic 'yellow' dollhouse doll isn't wearing a hat, but her hair is done up in a Downton Abbey type up-do with pearls strung throughout.

I'll post updates on my progress with these.......now I want my own dollhouse!!!

I "heart" Hearts!

This is my latest Heart. It measures 3"x3" and was originally designed as a dollhouse miniature, but I loved it so much that I'm now working on an even smaller version to wear as a pendant.

More hearts. This time a set of 3 charms I just finished. I'm not sure yet if they would be better on a bracelet or just worn on a chain. Maybe I'll wear all three at once, like seen here. One heart for each of my guys:)

I'm sharing with the following .....

Don't whine about a broken wine glass

Here's what I do with a chipped or broken wineglass...

I turn it into a piece of art

The angel uses the cup (even with a small chip on the rim) as the angel's skirt

The wings of this angel, I free-hand cut out like a scherenschnitte and I love the way the filigree of paper gives it an even more delicate look. And just because I LOVE roses, the base holds an everlasting rose.

I'm sharing this with....
